Starting Out: First Intro to Squash 1.11 – AREAS TO HELP IMPROVEMENT

ADVANCING TECHNIQUE:
As your juniors start to get more comfortable on the squash court and hitting the ball, put a little more emphasis on their technique and positioning with correct grip, bending their knees, being balanced, returning to the T etc.

MINI GAMES/TACTICS:
As juniors improve their racquet skills, bring in more mini games and conditioned games eg: above the service line, short game, half-court game etc.
This is also a perfect time to teach them basic tactics and goals for their rallies and have an understanding for lets and strokes.

SOLO PRACTICE/REWARD PROGRAM:
Encourage your players to practice in their own time. Set up a program to reward juniors for their solo practice and playing with friends. A sticker board is a great way to keep track and make it fun. Hand out prizes at the end of each block of group lessons.
