CARRY A COPY OF THE WSF INJURY & BLOOD RULES
HERE are the full (updated September 2025) WSF singles squash rules. Print off the injury and blood rules so you have them at hand in case there is an incident.
SUPERVISE WARM-UPS
- Players must hit 2 hits to themselves and then over to their opponent during warm-up.
- Remind players of this rule as needed to ensure fair and shared warm-up time.
REFEREEING STANDARDS
- Maintain timely and high-quality refereeing throughout the tournament.
- Players must be present and attentive when refereeing the match after theirs.
- Take note of any player who leaves the venue without fulfilling refereeing duties and report to US Squash (tournament points can be deducted from the player for this violation)
COACHING RULES
- No coaching during active play on court, including between rallies. Coach only in between games.
- Permitted expressions: “Come on,” “You’ve got this,” and applause for both players.
- Not allowed: Tactical instructions like “Focus,” “Hit deep,” “One point at a time,” etc.
PARENT & SPECTATOR BEHAVIOR
- Spectators and parents must not speak to or interfere with referees.
- If assistance is needed (e.g., no official referee available), parents must come directly to the tournament desk.
- Any violations should be reported to US Squash immediately.

SPORTSMANSHIP OVERSIGHT
- Good sportsmanship is expected and encouraged from all players.
- Intervene if behavior crosses a line—document and report both exemplary and poor conduct to US Squash.
PROTECTIVE EYEWEAR ENFORCEMENT
- Regular prescription glasses must be worn with an iMask or similar protective covering.
- Only US Squash-approved eyewear is permitted.
- Rudy Project and Oakley lenses are not approved.
CHECK MATCH RESULTS ON CLUB LOCKER DRAWS
- Be sure to check over the draws online at the end of the day (and during the day if you have time) to make sure that all matches have been submitted to allow the players to move to their next respective place in the draws online.
- Occasionally a match does not get submitted properly on the device when the referee doesn’t submit the match correctly and then the draws are not up to date online and can cause some confusion of when the next matches will be.
