For the warm-up, have each student take their own location around the gym (with a rubber spot to stand on) and complete the warm-up below for 5 minutes. We propose largely ‘in-place’ warm-ups.
WARMING UP FOR TODAY: Ask students to count aloud!!

- 1-Minute Squat Pulse (low squat and pulse in position)
- 15 Plank Knee to Elbow Touches
- 10 Spiderman Lunges
- 1-Minute Fast Feet
DYNAMIC STRETCHES: Next, perform the following:
- 6 lateral lunges from side to side.
- 6 Lunges Forward and Back (Challenge: Try not to put your foot down when transitioning from forward to backward lunge.
- 6 Straight Leg Zombie Kicks (Hand to Opposite Toe).
RUN AROUND THE ROOM! With five commands. Randomly:
- Change of direction, Shout ‘CHANGE’.
- Jump up and shout ‘JUMP’.
- Touch the floor with the left hand and shout ‘LEFT’.
- Touch the floor with the right hand and shout ‘RIGHT’.
- Touch the floor with both hands and shout ‘BOTH’.
