PLAY THIS VIDEO TO LEARN HOW TO DO THE ONE STRAIGHT, ONE CROSS COURT DRILL
Students have now learnt both the forehand and backhand straight and cross courts, therefore they will combine the two shots in this drill.

- PROGRESSION #1:
Get two students to demonstrate the one straight, one cross court drill for the entire class. Remind students to maintain a correct grip. - Each student hits one straight drive to themselves before passing the ball across the court to their partner, who repeats the drill.
- If playing as a pair, alternate between backhand and forehand each time the rally breaks down.
- When a group rally breaks down, each student moves one position to the left. This indicates that the student on the forehand transitions to the backhand, the student on the backhand exits to wait, and a new student enters the forehand.
- If you have the time and the difficulty is appropriate, move on to volleys.
ONE POINT GAME:
- Create as many 3-net courts as you can and divide the students into even numbered groups for each court (one group per court).
- Line up the students by each court in random order.
- First two students compete in one rally, and the winner stays in.
- Next student in line plays 1 rally with the previous winner.
- Winner of each rally stays in until they lose a rally.
- Overall winner is the student that is still in at the end, once everyone has played a rally.
