School Start Squash 2.2 – FUN GAME: SQUOCKEY

THIS VIDEO WILL TEACH YOU HOW TO PLAY SQUOCKEY

A team game in a gym. Split the group into two teams.

SAFETY POINTS: Racquets must remain on the floor for this game, and the ball must roll across the floor to count as a goal. It can get dangerous if the ball is tossed around in the air and racquets are swinging.

EQUIPMENT:

  • Racquets used as hockey sticks.
  • Mini squash ball
  • Net for Goals

RULES OF THE GAME:

  • Split the group into two teams.
  • A mix of squash and hockey!! Set up two nets as goals at each end of the playing area.
  • Players must use their racquets to dribble, hit the ball, and score a goal.
  • The first player to achieve 11 goals wins!!!

VARIATION: Players must stay on one side of the gym and shoot past their opponent to strike the wall behind them to score a goal. They lose a goal if they cross the line.

REPEAT THIS GAME AT THE END OF THE SESSION, IF YOU HAVE TIME. Give the group an incentive to focus: if they do, they can play the fun game again at the end!
