School Start Squash 1.3 – RACQUET SAFETY & SPATIAL AWARENESS

After watching the introductory video, warming up, and playing the fun game, we’ll discuss racquet safety and spatial awareness.

BEFORE handing out the equipment, it is critical to understand the squash safety factors listed below, as injury might result if the racquet is not handled properly.

SAFETY IS THE MOST IMPORTANT. Explain the six safety rules stated below to the students.

  • No excessive swinging of the racquets.
  • When hitting the ball, maintain a 6-foot distance from others.
  • While you wait for your turn, keep the racquet close to your body.
  • Always wear protective eyewear.
  • Wear supportive athletic shoes that won’t leave a mark on the squash court.
  • DON’T RUN IN FRONT OF OTHERS TO GET YOUR OWN BALL.
