School Start Squash 1.2 – FUN GAME: HOT POTATO

FUN GAME: HOT POTATO

Hot Potato can be played in couples or as a team.

Required equipment is a bean bag or ball for the hot potato game and a music player.

OBJECTIVE OF THE GAME

Don’t be caught holding the ‘hot potato’ when the music stops playing.

HOW TO PLAY THE GAME OF HOT POTATO

  • Divide the students into pairs or small groups of four or five and form a circle.
  • The students stand in a circle facing the center, with one of them carrying the “hot potato” (or opposite one another in pairs).
  • Start the music and instruct the student to gently but rapidly throw the hot potato around the circle.
  • When the music stops, the individual with the hot potato is out.
  • Continue the game until just one student remains in the circle.  They are the winners. Play a best-of-five game in pairs.
  • REPEAT THIS GAME AT THE END OF THE SESSION, IF YOU HAVE TIME. Give the group an incentive to focus: if they do, they can play the fun game again at the end!
