Fun Games: WITH BALLOONS

Coaches inflate balloons ahead of time. For all ages and skill levels.

RULES:

  • Keep one balloon in the air.
  • Use any part of your body to maintain the ball in the air. Scoring: Attempt 9 consecutive hits, and if successful, try 15 and so on.

PROGRESSION 1: Hold two or more balloons in the air using any part of the body. Scoring to 9 or 15

PROGRESSION 2: Using one racquet and any part of the body, keep three or more balloons in the air.

PROGRESSION 3: Use two racquets to maintain three or more balloons in the air, with scoring options to 9 or 15.

BALLOON SKILLS: Two students share one balloon and one racquet. Hit the balloon and immediately pass the racquet over to your partner. Timing: two minutes

PROGRESSION 1: ‘Terrible Twos’ consists of two balloons and two racquets. Hit the two balloons over to each other. Timing: two minutes

GROUP BALLOONING SKILLS:

IT’S ALL IN THE AIR: A group of students, each carrying two or more balloons, work together to maintain all balloons in the air (no racquet). Timing: three minutes

IT IS A TOSS UP: Team relay using one racquet and one balloon each. Each student hits a balloon into the air with their racquet and quickly passes it to the next in turn; when it reaches the last student, the order reverses back to the first. The first team to finish wins the game.

Scoring: Best of three or five games.
