School Start Squash 8.4 – TOURNAMENT WITH DRAW & ONE POINT RALLY TOURNAMENT

  • Alternatively, Tournament Day might be held in a draw format. The following is an example:
  • Divide the class into 8-player groups because this is an 8-person draw.
  • Seed the eight participants from #1 to #8 or choose names from a hat and place them at random.
  • The first four matches are played. The winner of these matches advances (stays in the main draw). The loser of these matches will be relegated to the consolation draw, while everyone will have two matches.
  • Play-off matches can be added to provide a third match for everyone. 3rd/4th in the main draw; 7th/8th in the consolation draw.

VARIATION: ONE RALLY TOURNAMENT. Put all names in a hat and pull out randomly and place them in the draw from top to bottom. Each round, students only have one play rally to determine the winner. Move forward in the draw if you win the rally and move backwards in the draw if you lose the first rally.
