School Start Squash 3.6 – FUN GAME: RELAY

To end the session, place the racquets, eyewear, and balls in the corner and proceed to some fun, fast running!

RELAY RACE: Students form two teams.

  • Teams are standing in a row and must determine their team order. The students will run one at a time.
  • Determine how many lengths of the gym (or court) all students will run when it is their turn.
  • To begin the relay, the teacher shouts out ‘READY, STEADY, GO’.
  • The first student sprints as fast as possible, then tags the next team member to finish their run and return to the rear of the line.
  • The relay continues throughout the squad, and the winning team is the first to complete all of their sprints.

VARIATION:

  • Adjust the number of sprints.
  • Introduce several styles of running, such as butt kicks, knees up, shuffles, karaoke, and so on.
