Starting Out 3.2 – FUN WARM-UP GAME EXAMPLES FOR GROUPS & CLINICS

These warm-ups help with coordination, balance, agility, teamwork and quick thinking.

DODGEBALL:
Each team must run to the middle of the court and grab a ball and throw it at the
opposing team to get the players out. If a player catches the ball thrown at them,
the thrower is out. They can bring back a teammate in ‘jail’ back into the game by
throwing the ball to them and they catch it on the fly. Team with last player in, is
the winner!

TIK-TAC-TOE:
Two teams. Set up the hoops and 1 player at a time from each team runs up to
place the bean bag in a hoop. Take it in turns to place the bean bag. First team to
get 3 bean bags in a row into the hoops wins.

WALKING HIGH 5 PLANKS:
Face each other in a plank position, about two to three feet apart.
Both teammates give each other a high five on the same side while lifting your
opposite leg up. Alternate or switch high fives.

DUCK DUCK GOOSE:
Duck Duck Goose is a game where everyone sits in a circle, while one person
is walking around the circle tapping the heads of others saying ‘Duck’ but once
that person taps someone’s head and says ‘Goose’, they get up and try to tag that
person before they can run and sit in their spot.
