- ELIGIBILTY
- Players must compete in 3 sanctioned tournaments in the same age group to appear in the rankings (unless aging up; see Junior Policies).
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Resident.
- Ranking Calculation
- 3–4 tournaments: Average = total points ÷ 4.
- 5–8 tournaments: Average = best 4 tournaments ÷ 4.
- 9–11 tournaments: Average = best 5 tournaments ÷ 5.
- For every additional 3 tournaments played, the divisor increases by 1.
- Points
- Each tournament level (Bronze, Silver, Gold, JCT, Championships) awards different points based on finishing position (see chart).
2. ROLLING 11-MONTH SYSTEM
- Only tournaments from the past 11 months (48 weeks) count toward rankings.
- After 11 months, tournament points become inactive.
- A player needs to play 3 US Squash sanctioned tournaments in the same age group before they appear in the US Squash junior rankings (unless they are aging up. See Junior Policies for more details).
- If a player participates in 4 or fewer tournaments, their ranking average is calculated as the sum of these points for all active tournaments, divided by 4.
- If a player participates in up to 8 tournaments, their ranking average will be calculated by taking the average of their best 4 tournaments (sum of top point-earning 4 tournaments, divided by 4).
- If a player participates in 9, 10, or 11 tournaments, their ranking average will be calculated as the average of their best 5 tournaments (sum of top point-earning 5 tournaments, divided by 5).
- As a player’s exposure count increases by three tournaments, their divisor will continue to increase by one.
- Each tournament level has certain ranking points available, depending on their finishing position. The chart is the circle below to the right shows the points range in each tournament level.
- Players must be current U.S. Citizens or U.S. Residents to be listed in the US rankings.
- Only tournaments from the previous 11 months (determined as forty-eight weeks) will be factored into a player’s ranking point average. After 11 months, tournament points become inactive and no longer affect a player’s ranking.
- Please note: The junior rankings are updated and released every Wednesday. Points earned from the previous weekend tournaments are included in that week’s update.
3. RANKING EXAMPLE:
- An example of the US ranking with the GU11 ranking below. Player A has played 9 tournaments (circled in yellow below) so her divisor is 5 (see info above). The total of her best 5 tournaments is 16450 (circled in blue below). 16450 divided by 5 = 3290 points (circled in red below).

- To see which tournaments your child has played or is signed up for, go to the ‘Tournaments’ tab in their club locker account. In the ‘PAST EVENTS’ area, the tournaments that count towards their ranking are always colored green. We have also highlighted the 9 green tournaments below in Player A’s account. We have also circled the 5 highest scores out of the 9 played and these are the points that count towards her ranking.
- PLEASE NOTE the date to the right side of the ranking points. This is the date the points will ‘DROP OFF’ and no longer be counted towards their ranking, as mentioned above.
